The 1986 BBC Domesday Project was a partnership between Acorn Computers Ltd, Philips, Logica and the BBC to mark the 900th anniversary of the original Domesday Book.
Over 1 million people participated in the project (mostly school children) and it contains written information and photographs that provide a snapshot of daily life in the United Kingdom.
